SPECIMEN: Right and left testicular biopsy.
GROSS PICTURE: Right and left testicular biopsies, separately and totally embedded.
MICROSCOPIC PICTURE: Serial sections examined from testicular biopsy revealed variable
sized seminiferous tubules. Most tubules (±95%) showed spermatogenic arrest at primary
spermatocyte stage. Few tubules (± 5%) were free of germ cells, and were populated only by
Sertoli cells. Leydig cell population showed unremarkable changes. No evidence of granuloma,
specific infection or neoplasia.
DIAGNOSIS: Right and Left Testicular biopsy Specimens:
Both:
Ø Spermatogenic Arrest At The Primary spermatocyte Stage (±95%).
Ø Germ Cell Aplasia (± 5%).
N.B.: Please Fix Testicular Biopsy In Bouin's Solution. (Available Free In The Laboratory).
